BLTC gained Club Mark accreditation in 2008 and were the third club in Essex to achieve accreditation.
Clubmark accreditation shows that a club provides the right environment which ensures the welfare of members and encourages everyone to enjoy sport and stay involved throughout their lives. It has been developed to ensure that all clubs awarded Tennis Clubmark:
- Deliver appropriate tennis opportunities to all players whatever their ability
- Provide regular competitive opportunities
- Ensure the well-being of young tennis players
- Enthuse tennis players to enjoy tennis
- Enable tennis players to make optimum use of their talents
- Identify and support the most talented players
An accredited club is recognised as a safe, rewarding and fulfilling place for participants of all ages as well as helping parents and carers know that they're choosing the right club for their young people.
What does Clubmark stand for?
Clubmark stands for higher standards of welfare, equity, coaching and management. That way the nation's sports club infrastructure is safer, stronger and more successful. This means that a club that has been awarded Clubmark has achieved minimum operating standards in activity/playing programmes, equity, welfare and good club management
In essence, a club that qualifies for Clubmark is a well run club which is ACTIVE and ACCESSIBLE, getting the best out of people and giving everyone a sporting chance.
