COVID-19 Important information Last updated: 25th September 2020
We have made some changes to the Clubhouse and Bar areas in line with the latest LTA recommendations to safeguard our members, juniors and parents against Covid-19.
You will all be fully aware that hand sanitiser must be used whenever anyone enters court or the clubhouse, but in addition to this ANYONE entering the clubhouse must sign in in the register that has been placed in the lobby by the clubhouse entrance door, or alternatively by using their smartphone to scan the QR code posters that are in the clubhouse. Juniors should ask their parents to sign in if they do not have a smartphone.
Upon arriving at the club you will see an A4 poster displaying a NHS QR code. It is a legal requirement for us to display this as of today.
To use the QR code scan facility the Track and Trace app must be installed on your smartphone, which can be downloaded from the NHS website https://covid19.nhs.uk/ which has a number of tools to protect you, including contact tracing, local area alerts and venue check-in.
This is a legal requirement for track and trace purposes so there are no exceptions, everybody including visitors/non-members
must sign in.
Once in the clubhouse, everybody must wear a face mask and observe the limit of 6 people in a group, and must observe the social distancing rules avoiding close proximity face to face conversations.
Mask wearing is compulsory in the clubhouse at all times unless you are drinking in the bar area, where your mask can be removed when you are seated. This also includes visits to the toilets and other communal areas.
Juniors under 11 years of age are not required to wear a mask.
Seating has been rearranged to limit the numbers in a group to 6. Please do not exceed this limit, and replace any chairs that may have been moved when you leave.
The Bar floor area in front of the bar has been marked out, and the rule is only one person may enter this area at a time to purchase drinks, and must move away once they have been served. Bar stools have been removed temporarily.
The bar itself is limited to one person/people from the same bubble serving at a time. Please ask the Bar staff on duty to serve your drinks, you must not serve yourself while the restrictions are in place.
We have a cardreader in operation which must be used whenever possible, we can accept cash still but card is the preferred option.
There are posters and advisory signs in the bar, lobby and clubhouse areas as reminders to all using the clubhouse.
Bar access is limited to people on the bar rota during social events, the bar area can be accessed for tennis balls/light keys only outside of these times.
The bar will be closing at 10PM, which means last orders will be 9.45PM, and the bar/clubroom vacated by 10PM.
May we also remind members that other clubhouse rules are still in effect, ie no children in the bar area, and all dogs must be kept on leads at all times both in and outside the clubhouse
Many Thanks for your co-operation, it is essential that we all observe these precautions if the bar and clubhouse is to remain open for all.
Just to remind you
The Clubhouse is open, this will give you access to the toilet facilities and floodlights, please bring cash to use floodlights as there will be no keys on site. The toilets and lobby will be cleaned twice a week. We ask that you remain vigilant with social distancing and please keep the areas you use clean and tidy. Everyone must play their part and adhere to the hygiene and distancing rules to ensure that the clubhouse remains open for all. In the Clubhouse we will be installing more hand sanitisation points plus more signage.
The courts are open for social play. To attend social play you will need to sign a register as we will need to follow the 'test and trace' Government guidelines. The clubroom and bar will open but the kitchen and showers will remain closed until further notice. The bar will be opened and staffed by volunteers for the period it is open (the opening times will be displayed).
Please continue to book courts through Clubspark as we will have to follow the Governments 'test and trace' guidelines. You cannot just turn up at the club and play. Courts can only be used by members if they are booked on Clubspark. The normal booking rules for all members still apply. For this year Junior parent members can book courts on Clubspark to play with their children only.
Visitors will continue to not be allowed to use the courts, there will however be one exception. If you are playing in a competition and you are drawn to play at home then you can play your match in this instance. Details of opposing player must be given to a committee member so we can follow guidelines for 'test and trace'.
There are hand sanitisers that must be used before and after play these are located at each door to the courts and adjacent to the Coaches Store.
For further guidance please refer to the LTA guidelines given by the LTA for venues, tennis players and for tennis coaches which you must read before attending the Club.
The health and wellbeing of all our members, coaches and parents is of utmost importance at the moment. Please stay safe and enjoy your tennis.
